The Port of Setubal is made up of several specialized terminals that render public services in the various kinds of cargo.
Zone 1 Multipurpose Terminal – TERSADO

This terminal is operated by TERSADO and is used for handling break bulk and general cargo, ro-ro, solid bulks and containers. It has:
- A wharf front of 864 m long and a Ro-Ro slope 30 m wide (5 mooring berths)
- Drafts of -9,5 m (CD) in an extension of 170 m and deeps of – 10,5 m (CD) in an extension of 694 m;
- Covered storage areas of 2 115 m2 and 102 000 m2 of open air storage areas.
Zone 2 Multipurpose Terminal – SADOPORT

This terminal is operated by SADOPORT and is used for handling break bulk and general cargo, ro-ro (heavy) and containers. It has:
- A wharf front of 725 m long, with deeps of -15m (CD) (4 mooring berths)
- Drafts of -12m (CD);
- Covered storage areas of 1 619 m2 and 200 778 m2 of open air storage areas.
- A gantry crane of 45 Ton
- A gantry crane of 40 Ton (post-panamax).
Roll-on Roll-off Terminal / AutoEuropa Terminal
Destined for handling roll-on roll-off cargo. It has:
- A wharf front of 365 m long (2 mooring berths) and a ro-ro slope supported by dolphins (1 mooring berth)
- Drafts of -12m (CD);
- Levelled ground for open air storage with a total area of 150 000m2, of which 60 000m2 are operated by AutoEuropa in a private regime.
SAPEC Port Terminal

Operated by SAPEC – Terminais Portuários, SA and is used for handling solid and liquid bulks. It has:
- A wharf front of 112 m long (1 mooring berth) that allows mooring of vessels up to 200 m long and 10,5 m deep;
- Leveled ground for open air storage of about 25 000 m2.
Liquid Bulk Terminal

Operated by SAPEC – Terminais Portuários, SA and is used for handling liquid bulk. It has:
- A mooring berth made up of three dolphins (2 grappling and 1 lashing) which allows mooring for vessels up to 190 m long and -9,5 m drafts.
Besides these terminals, there are others for private use in the industries which are located by the river, for 11 km of the right bank of the Sado River. |
