In the Setubal region there are several private logistic platforms, which represent an added value for the companies that included the Port of Setubal in their logistic chains.
Logz – Atlantic Hub (Poceirão Multimodal Logistic Platform)
Besides the existing infrastructures which help the business areas directly or indirectly connected to the activities of the Port of Setubal, we foresee, in a short to medium period, the development of a national and Iberian nature platform, also vocated towards logistics, to be installed in the Setubal region, the Poceirão Multimodal Logistic Platform, commercially designated by Logz – Atlantic Hub.
This platform, due to its proximity to the port, will allow for its connection to the north of the country and Elvas / Badajoz, Merida and Madrid logistic platforms. The project is integrated in the national platform network defined by Logistic Portugal and is positioned as a Logistic Hub of global importance, gifted with a natural atlantic vocation and prepared to respond to the intermodal challenges, given by the Portuguese Government and European Comission.
The platform, which will have, on a first stage, 200 ha, is located in Palmela Council, 10 km from Setubal and 35 km from Lisbon, with excellent accesses by road or rail, which allows its connection to the remaining Iberian and European logistic and port platforms, as well as consolidation of the Setubal port traffic, namely in the flux destined for the Iberian hinterland.
With atlantic positioning, Logz – Atlantic Hub becomes an entry of excellence for the cargo traffic from the African and American continents and creates a new alternative for entering the peninsula for the European Short Sea Shipping.
Located by the rail crossing of Poceirão, it will be served with regular shuttles to the Port of Setubal, making the consolidation of the national port traffic destined for Spain and remaining European countries, through an existing rail network in Iberian gauge. Furthermore, it also does the articulation between the present rail network and the projected network in European gauge, also destined for high speed traffic.
Parque Industrial da AutoEuropa
The VW AutoEuropa factory is located in Palmela and represents the most important industrial foreign investment made in Portugal. The management is assured by the company Sogepin and has infrastructures that allow it to receive new businesses tied to the Automotive Industry. In what regards accesses, this park benefits from a direct connection to the interior of the port terminal.
SAPEC BAY – Parque Industrial e Logístico
SAPEC BAY is located in the Mitrena Peninsula Industrial zone, in Setubal, framed by the Arrabida Mountain and by the Sado estuary. It is a park of big dimensions, with marine, rail and road interface with versatility and ability to adapt to the settlement of any business.
Gifted with state-of-the-art technology, it has electrical network, fiber optic communications network, consumption and industrial waters, installed in technical galleries that scope the full Industrial Park, natural gas network, rain water drainage and connection of the effluents to the treatment station (ETAR).
It has an Integrated Management System for Quality, Environment and Safety, in the goals of Sustainable Development Lisbon Strategy and in the full integration of Social Responsibility.
SPC Multiusos – Terminal Rodo-Ferroviário de Setúbal
SPC Multiusos is a company of the SAPEC group, acting in supplying road-rail logistics. The SPC terminal, located in Mitrena, in Setubal, is an important logistic platform, with road-rail-marine connections. Its multimodal vocation assumes and marked Iberian stamp in handling general cargo, bulks and containers in the Portuguese and Spanish territories.
It has wide areas, customs warehouses and containers parks, complementing means of transport (truck-train-vessel), handling with own means mobile boxes, flats and containers.
The road-rail terminal of Setubal also manages all the rail structure connected to the industrial premises and the wharf operated by SAPEC.
Aiming to dynamize the cargo traffic in the Setubal Peninsula, SPC has another two platforms also connect to the national rail network, located in Bobadela (Lisbon) and Valongo (Leixões).
Bluebiz Global Parques
Bluebiz Global Parques – Parque Empresarial de Setúbal is managed by AICEP – Global Parques. It is located in Vale da Rosa, a mere 3,5 km from the Port of Setubal and at the distance from the A12 highway. It has easy accesses both by road and rail, it is a park aimed for setting up of non-polluting small industries, namely mechanic, electro-mechanic and logistic and distribution services, among others.
Its premises take up a total area of 56 ha fully fenced, having 100 000 m2 of covered areas and another 20 ha of open air parks, apart from 2 000 m2 of office space, integrated in a vast and pleasant green space.
The available spaces are gifted with the necessary infrastructures, namely water, energy, communications, alarm systems and fire protection, safety and surveillance, cleaning services for the common areas and people and vehicle entrance control.
Parque Industrial de Vendas Novas
The Parque Industrial de Vendas Novas has a total area of 200 000 m2 and connections to Lisbon, Setubal, Évora and Spain by highway. It is aimed for several activity sectors, such as: transforming industries, building, automobile commerce and repairs, accommodation and restaurants, communications, transport and storage, education and activities.
Quimiparque – Parques Empresariais, SA
Quimiparque – Parques Empresariais, SA has a park served with connection to the Port of Setubal by highway and rail, with infrastructures to received several businesses, in a total area of 240 ha.
